Takuvaine Warriors Take Out Rarotonga Club 7s

Takuvaine A Grade sent out a clear message to all teams that they will be a force to be reckoned with at the CI International 7s!

The team which will front as ‘Tama Toa United’ at the Internationals is made up pre-dominantly of local Samoan residents and coached by Vaivase Samania met Titikaveka B in the Cup Final in what proved to be a battle of attrition in the early stages.  Takuvaine scored a try within the first few seconds of the game from a ball that spilled fortuitously for one of the teams speedsters Ailoa Samania to pick up and score in the corner.

Takuvaine led at the break 10-5 and a penalty try early in the second half gave them a healthy lead and proved an uphill battle for Titikaveka B comprised mainly of local Fijian residents.

The Club 7s competition has provided all players with the build-up and game time that is required heading into the International 7s next week.

Final score 24-10 to the Takuvaine Warriors.
